<aside> ‼️ IMPORTANT: - All Guest Artists and Service Providers, regardless of fee or reimbursement, require documentation to engage with our faculty and/or students. Guest Artists and Service Providers should not perform any services/work prior to appropriate documentation being in place.

• At no point should faculty incur expenses on behalf of a guest artist, such as airfare, accommodations, ground transportation or personal/individual meals. Please work with Business Office staff to ensure these are addressed as reimbursements to the guest, as budget allows.

Documentation for all guest artist and service provider payments must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the date(s) of engagement, so please plan accordingly.

Reimbursements to Guest Artists

Are they a guest artist or service provider?

Guest Artists - A company or individual who provides a presentation, performance, or speech in front of an audience for payment.

Service Providers - A company or individual who provides services to ASU for payment. Examples would include consultants, face painters, food providers, etc.

EXAMPLE -

A National Anthem Singer is hired to

• Perform before a sports activity (football, hockey etc.), then they are providing a service for the event, and people are not coming to the event to specifically see the singer. This is a service provider.
• Perform at an event where people are coming to see the performer (as an individual or part of a group), and the performance is the main event. This is a guest artist.
