UNIVERSITY POLICY | EHS 706: Protection of Minors

ASU is committed to providing safe environments for all youth participating in university-run or affiliated activities on and off campus — in person or virtual.

The university has established mandatory youth protection protocols and reporting responsibilities based on state and federal law.

ASU’s new Youth Protection Program and updated Protection of Minors policy launches Nov. 3, 2025.

Review the YPP town hall recording to learn what these changes mean for your program.

<aside> ‼️

With the exception of the Duty to Report Abuse section of the policy, the youth protection policy DOES NOT apply to:

If ASU will be in the care, custody, or control of minors during these recruiting events, then all ASU personnel and volunteers who will interact with or supervise minors must be fingerprinted, trained, and understand their reporting duties.

Recruiting events must also be registered in the youth protection registry (MOC Registry), and would only be exempt if they fall into the parameters listed above. If they do not, proceed with the standard minors on campus policy which includes registering the events in the MOC registry and ensuring ASU affiliates complete both the required fingerprinting & minors on campus training.

Fingerprinting Cost: $80 per individual
