Details on the application process can be found on the ASU ISSC website.

We ask faculty hosts to prepare the following documentation in order to start the process with the MDT Business Office staff:

• Invitation letter (template)
• J-1 Exchange Visitor English Proficiency Certification
• English Proficiency Interview Form

Additional documentation will be required of the potential scholar:

• Copy of passport page with biographical information for the J-1 scholar and for any accompanying J-2 dependents
• Funding documentation
• Previous DS-2019 form(s) (if applicable)
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Various other supporting documents

MDT Business Office staff will take care of submitting the J1 request via the ISSC portal once everything is ready to go.

J-1 Scholar requests can take up to 6 months to process, so please plan accordingly.
